As part of BT’s ongoing commitment to you and your family’s security, we’re offering BT Identity Protection – the unique insurance plan that helps protect you from identity theft and resolve the consequences should you become a victim.
With BT Identity Protection, you’re covered for up to £50,000 for the expenses of restoring your identity. Plus, if someone steals your identity, you’ll receive your own personal caseworker who’ll guide you through the steps of resolving the problem, such as writing letters for you to send to relevant companies.
But to help prevent identity theft all together, its important you use the prevention services such as credit monitoring (if we see any changes on your credit report, we’ll alert you) and unlimited online access to your credit report.

- Credit report monitoring
We’ll watch your credit report closely. If any significant changes are detected, you’ll be alerted by email or post. - Access to your credit report, online or offline
Vigilance is the most effective way to spot early warning signs of identity theft. With unlimited online access to your Experian credit report, you can keep a close watch for any changes. Or, you can choose to receive four paper-based Experian credit reports over 12 months. - Valuable document registration
Register your important documents (such as your passport and driving licence) and your personal information with us. If anything is ever lost or stolen, we have the details on file for you to access. - CIFAS protective registration
If you’re at risk of identity theft (for example, if someone steals a piece of your personal information), we’ll place a protective registration warning with CIFAS to ensure that extra precautions are made before credit is granted in your name.
(CIFAS, the UK’s Fraud Prevention Service, is a not-for-profit association used by the majority of the UK’s financial services companies to prevent fraud.) - Members-only website

The reassurance you need if your identity is stolen. We’ll cover you for up to £50,000 for the expenses of restoring your identity. (Typically, those expenses can include legal fees, lost wages, costs for rejected loan fees, postage and telephone calls.) - Your own personal caseworker
Professional guidance and support to help ease the emotional stress of identity theft. If someone should steal your identity, you’ll have a personal caseworker to help you through the process of restoring your identity. - Personalised action plan
Your caseworker will create an action plan tailored to your specific requirements, guide you every step of the way and provide you with personalised letters to complete and send to the relevant companies. - £200 cover to replace lost or stolen documents
This is over and above your £50,000 cover. If your passport and / or driving licence is lost or stolen you’re covered for up to £200 to replace them, with no excess to pay. (You must have registered the items with us previously.) - BT Identity Protection Advice Line

BT Identity Protection terms and conditions
BT Identity Protection is arranged by Card Protection Plan Limited and underwritten by Homecare Insurance Limited. Both companies are members of the CPP group of companies and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
BT Identity Protection is available at £44.99 a year, or £3.75 a month for the first 12 months only, when you purchase online. Afterwards, price is £59.99 a year.
